Our Story

The story behind La Maniere.

The way you set a table says a lot about how you live.

We're a small group of people who've spent our lives around craft and design — and somewhere along the way we noticed something: the stories a family keeps retelling years later almost always happened at a table. That's the whole reason La Manière exists. Manière means "the way" — not a method, but someone's particular, personal way of gathering people and making an ordinary Tuesday feel like it mattered.

What we look for

We search workshops and ateliers around the world for pieces a real connoisseur would recognize as exceptional — hand-painted botanicals, baroque gold flourishes, graphic lattice, a color-blocked cup that belongs in a gallery as easily as a cupboard. Only one test decides what makes the cut: would we want this on our own table?

Why it matters

A meal tastes as much like the moment as the food. We think a home deserves a few things that are genuinely considered, not just functional — so that's what we go looking for, and why we take getting it to you seriously.

Considered, not precious

Every piece is chosen to be lived with: dishwasher-safe where the finish allows, sturdy enough for a full house of guests, detailed enough to notice on the hundredth use. Care notes are on every product page, because we'd rather you use the good plates on a Wednesday than save them for an occasion that never arrives.

Pull up a chair

That's La Manière — not the loudest tableware brand, or the most exclusive. Just people who care as much about getting it right for you as we do about the pieces themselves.
